I will be exhibiting at the upcoming Art in the Barn Show, which will be held on July 10 to 12, 2015. This year the show will be held in two buildings, the main Hall on the fairgrounds and in the Barn. I am exhibiting in the Barn this year, so come see what's new. See you there!
The count down begins - Art in the Barn is this coming weekend and all is getting ready. Pictures chosen, cards to sort out, and prints to be picked out as well. Also I will have some hand painted silk scarves there too.
An Opening Reception will be held on
Friday, July 10th from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.
The show then opens at 6 p.m to 8 p.m.
The main event then takes place on Saturday, July 11th and Sunday, July 12th.
Come and spend the day looking at all the great art.
See you there
November 21-23 I will be participating in this show which is sponsored by the Rideau Lakes Artists’ Association. It is the second year for this show, which was a huge success last year. Absolutely nothing in the show is over $100 in price, and there is again a wide selection of Art Works. This will be held at the Smiths Falls Community Memorial Centre.
November 9 to December 21
I will be participating in their Annual Art Show which is one of their fundraisers. I will be at the Gala Opening Reception that is being held on Sunday November 9th from 2 to 4 p.m. and I look forward to seeing you there.
The year 2014 looks like it is finishing with a bang, which is great. I look forward to seeing you at any, or all, of the shows that are coming up.
The first one will take place on November 1st at the Community Memorial Centre in Smiths Falls. The Art Journey Group had held a show last May in the Kinsmen Pavilion. As more Artists and Artisans have joined the group they have out grown the Pavilion and have had to move to another location.
This show has something for everyone, from paintings to jewelry, pottery, wood carving, steam punk, and more. So mark the dates on your calendar and come to the show.
The month of November will be a very busy one for me. I have signed up to do three, yes three shows during this time so I will be spending a lot of my free time working in my studio getting prepared for them.
Summertime is a slow period for me and painting as I get busy in the gardens of which I have many including a veggie patch. The weeds in the flower beds certainly have done well with the strange weather that we have had this summer so keeping up with taming them was almost like a full time job. As far as the vegetable garden goes, some things did very well (like the tomatoes, beans, and some of the squashes) and some did not do so well (like where did the carrots go). Now that fall is here it is preserving time. Not to worry though I am still finding time to paint as I have at least two shows coming up this November.
This was the fourth year for Art in the Barn, and as in the past it was a very successful show. Over forty artists from the Rideau Lakes Artists’ Association participated in the show (including myself).
Here are some pictures of my booth at this years’ show:
The Hidden Treasures Show was held at the local Kinsmen Community Pavilion in Smiths Falls. Twenty one local artists and artisans, including myself, participated in this show. There was quite a variety to be seen in this show which was a successful venture for the Art Journey Group.
